Ulan Bator, Sep 28 : A total of 1,600 military personnel, including 592 Russian troops, are participating in the Mongolia-Russia joint tactical drill “Selenge-2021,” the Mongolian Armed Forces (MAF) said Tuesday.
This year’s edition of the annual military exercise is underway at a training ground in the central Mongolian province of Tuv under the theme “Preparing and organizing counter-terrorism operations.”
The participants “are strictly following all health protocols to prevent the COVID-19 infections,” the MAF said in a statement.
The joint military exercise, which began on September 22, is expected to last until October 5.
The military drill has been alternately organized by the two countries annually since 2008.
