Chandigarh, Nov 19 :Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) leader and Elannabad MLA Abhay Chautala on Friday demanded the Central government to make a law on the Minimum Support Price (MSP).
Chautala, while reacting to the PM’s announcement to repeal farm laws, said in a series of tweets that while he welcomes the move, he would like to demand that MSP guarantee law should be made at the earliest.
He saluted the victory of struggle of farmers and labourers and paid tributes to the ryots, who died during the year-long agitation.
He said the deceased peasants should be given the status of a martyr and their families should get financial help from the government. He also demanded that all the cases filed against the agitating farmers during the past one year should be withdrawn.
Chautala had resigned from his Assembly seat in support of farmers agitation at the beginning of the year and was re-elected in the bye-election held on October 30.
