Anti-Corruption Bureau officials caught Medipally SI for accepting bribe

Hyderabad, Dec 7 : The sleuths of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Tuesday caught red-handed a Sub Inspector of Police when he was accepting a bribe amount of Rs 10,000 from the complainant.

Ch Yadagiri Raju, Sub Inspector of Police from Medipally Police Station in Rachakonda Police Commissionerate was caught red-handed at 1210 hours at the Police Station when he demanded and accepted the bribe amount of Rs. 10,000 from the complainant Nallika Prasanth of Boduppal in Medchal-Malkajigiri District to do an official favour.

The SI demanded the bribe from the complainant for cooperating with the latter in the investigation of accident case registered U/s. 337 of Indian Penal Code (IPC) on December 1 in Medipally Police Station, an ACB release here said.

The tainted bribe amount of Rs.10,000 was recovered from the possession of the SI when the Chemical test yielded a positive result.
He performed his duty improperly and dishonestly to obtain an undue advantage.

The SI was being arrested and being produced before the 1st Additional Special Judge for SPE and ACB Cases, Hyderabad, the release added.
