Kakinada, Dec 19 : As many as 421 tribal youths including 150 girls have been recruited in the Job Mela organized by the East Godavari police enlisting the support of various private companies under ‘Parivarthana scheme’ at Chintur in the interior agency area on Saturday, officials informed on Sunday.

The youth were earlier given the required exposure and training to face the interviews by conducting mock interviews in cooperation with HR groups of corporate companies in a similar programme last month.

The Parivarthana scheme is the brainchild of Superintendent of Police (SP)Ravindranath Babu, who experimented it earlier during his tenure in Krishna district where hundreds of families involved in ID Liquor business were counseled on the evil effects of such a trade and families, especially upon the younger generations which can spoil their bright future.

He has been successful in bringing transformation in several families and providing them gainful employment by bringing new ray of hope in their lives.

During the past six months of his tenure in East Godavari, the SP has initiated several radical measures to strengthen the Parivarthana programme giving a new direction to the police personnel.

He has concentrated on curbing the activities of ganja smuggling, ganja cultivation by coming down heavily on the smugglers who were using the East Godavari agency as the corridor for clandestine transportation of Ganja to various parts of the country. Since the innocent tribal people had fallen victims in the hands of Ganja smugglers, the SP thought of bringing transformation among them through the Parivathana scheme .

The tribal friendly policing of organising medical camps, sports meets and welfare measures in the agency area served a twofold purpose in distancing the tribals from the influence of Maoists and also from the ID Liquor, Ganja smuggling activities.

The change is clearly evident with the tribal people themselves coming forward and extending cooperation to the police in locating the Ganja cultivation and destroying the Ganja fields in the agency during the last couple of months.

The SP himself attended the Parivarthana –Tribal Job Mela programme at Chintur and congratulated the tribal youths who got placements in various companies.

He also complimented the efforts of the Chintur sub divisional police officer Sri Krishna Kanth and his team for making the ground work and creating awareness among the tribal youth and their parents to help them away from the influence of Maoists and also from the ID Liquor and Ganja smugglers. While expressing his happiness over the success of Parivarthana programme, Ravindranath Babu said that Parivarthana -Job Mela programmes would be extended to other parts of the agency area in a phased manner.

The SP specially complemented Burra Jayadeep and Koppula Prudhvi for bagging jobs with an yearly package of Rs10 lakhs and Rs 6 lakhs respectively and thanked the BYJU’s company HR group for picking up such talented people from the agency.

MLC Anantha Udaya Bhaskar, Rampachodavaram MLA Dhanalakshmi ,Chintur ITDA project Officer Akula Venkataramana attended as the Chief Guests and handed over the appointment orders to the tribal youth. Chintur ASP G. Krishna Kanth, Chintur ITDA PO Venkataramana, district Special Branch DSP M. Ambika Prasad, IT Core Inspector Peddireddi Ramachandrarao, SB Inspector J V Ramana, Chintur Incharge CI Gourisankar, Yetapaka CI Gajendra were among those attended.
