Balochistan police arrests 19 doctors demanding protection of medical workers

Quetta, Nov 28 : At least 19 doctors staging a sit-in in Quetta, Balochistan, to demand protection to doctors and other hospital staff have been arrested citing violation of Covid-19 protocols.

“Nineteen people including doctors were arrested from the protest in late night (Saturday) police raid and cases registered against them,” police officials said.

They further said, “The SOPs of the Covid-19 were also being violated in the protest sit-in.”

According to ARY News, the doctors staged sit-in pressing for protection to doctors and other hospital staff and providing medical facilities in government-run hospitals of Balochistan.

Earlier, the Balochistan High Court had ordered the Young Doctors Association (YDA) protesters to stop their sit-in.

The HC warned the protesters of being sacked from their service if they boycott their duty.
