Kolkata, Jan 2 : West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Thursday held the Border Security Force(BSF) responsible for the infiltration from across the border to the state.
Banerjee said she has information that the Bangladeshis have been crossing the border from areas like Islamampur, Sitai and Chopra, ( North Bengal) and claimed that “this is a blueprint of the Union Government to disturb West Bengal.”
Addressing an administrative meeting Banerjee asked the DGP Rajiv Kumar, who was present, to probe the infiltration from those areas and submit a report to her.
She made the allegation hours after TMC General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee accused the BSF of allowing the Jehadis into the Bengal border to disturb and malign the state government.
Banerjee claimed the BSF was allowing infiltrators to enter West Bengal from Bangladesh. She claimed that ” goons are being sent through bordering areas like Islamampur, Sitai and Chopra, claiming that “this is a blueprint of the Union Government to disturb West Bengal.”
Calling it the Centre’s “nefarious blueprint”, the TMC supremo alleged that the BSF, which guards the Bangladesh border, was allowing infiltration into Bengal and also torturing women.
” The TMC is not guarding the border. The border is not in our hands, so if someone accuses the TMC of permitting infiltration, I will point out that it is BSF’s responsibility,” Banerjee reiterated.
The police have all the information, and the Centre has also such information, she pointed out.
” I have received inputs from Rajiv Kumar (DGP) and local sources. I will write a strong letter to the Centre regarding this,” the CM said.
“We have no enmity, but goons are being allowed here. They commit crimes and return across the border. BSF is facilitating this and the Centre has a role in it.” the chief minister said.
