Insight Online News

Kolkata, Jan 11 : Taking strong exception to state Chief Secretary and Director General of Police’s skipping a meeting convened by him, West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar on Tuesday said they have disregarded directive by merely forwarding SP report as they were expected to send “fully updated and written report” on Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari’s being denied entry by police to Netai in Jhargram district.

Taking to Twitter, Dhankhar said, ” Re: LOP @SuvenduWB – stopping from attending Netai Martyr’s Day programme. “

” CS @MamataOfficial and DGP @WBPolice have disregarded directive by merely forwarding SP report while they were expected to send “fully updated and written report. CS & DGP to send reports by 5 PM today, ” he stated.

” What a mindset @MamataOfficial SP/DGP/ACS refer LOP as “Suvendu Adhikari, MLA of BJP.” Would they so refer CM/ Ministers as MLA of TMC’? CS to forward by Jan 15 ACS Home/DGP/ SP response on this. Protocol adherence is not optional, ” he asserted.

” Re:LOP @SuvenduWB -Netai Martyr’s Day programme. CS@MamataOfficial response is dilatory, diversionary & derogatory. Issues flagged not responded. CS & DGP @WBPolice

to be present in Jan 12 meeting at 11 am. If ‘in isolation to ensure the presence of ACS Home & official next to DGP, ” Dhankhar said.

Yesterday, he said, ” LOP @SuvenduWB ill-treatment. Stunned at farcical identical messages “as directed” & premise of meeting boycott with Guv by CS @MamataOfficial & DGP

@WBPolice. CS/DGP directed to indicate by 5 PM today under whose “directions” messages were sent. “

Earlier, lambasting the police of the Mamata Banerjee Government for obstructing him en route to Netai, Adhikari on Friday asserted that the TMC Government is following the footsteps of the Left and heading towards the inevitable.

Adhikari said, ” Clutching at straws to remain in power, defying the democratic will of people, armed goons fired indiscriminately at villagers of Netai; Binpur Block; Jhargram (then West Midnapore) on 7th January 2011. Nine lives were lost & several got injured. “

” Every year since then I’ve been visiting Netai, to pay respects to the martyrs. @WBPolice blocked my way today defying Calcutta High Court’s order & contradicting AG’s submission. So I marched to Bhimpur to commemorate the occasion, paying tribute at a makeshift memorial, ” he rued.

” Such atrocities & abuse of power in connivance with Police led to the downfall of Left Front Govt, ” he said adding, ” TMC Govt is following the footsteps of the Left & heading towards the inevitable. “

” @WBPolice couldn’t save the then Govt, wouldn’t be able to shield this Govt as well, for long, ” Adhikari quipped.

It may be mentioned that nine lives were lost due to unprovoked firing years back during the Left regime.
