Bengal News Update : Political clashes and violence take three lives and leave many wounded in Bengal

Kolkata, Mar 25 : Sporadic violence and political clashes in the poll bound West Bengal took at least three lives, three went missing and many wounded as reports came from several districts of the state, official sources said today.

Report from Baruipur in South 24 Parganas said the bloody clashes between the supporters of Sanyukta Morcha ( Left, Congress and ISF) and ruling TMC left one dead and some 10 people wounded. The death happened to TMC supporter Ruhul Amin( 60), who succumbed to his would at Chittaranjan Medical college in the city.

Among the injured three of them were from Morcha and 7 TMC supporters. Three of the Morcha supporters went missing after the bloody clashes that happened at Belegachi on Wednesday night. Police arrested 7 accused in this connection.

Police were investigating after two youths were found dead with multiple wounds at Santipur in Nadia district early today.

The BJP called a 12-hour Santipur bandh on Friday, saying the duo were party supporters.

Police took the body of Dipankar Biswas and Pratap Burman, who were found in a bush at Nrisingha Methidanga area, for the post mortem.

The latest crimes happened a day after BJP’s Mondal Savapathi Amit Sarkar was found hanging by a rope at the verandah of a veterinary hospital at Dinhata, Coochbehar on Wednesday morning.
