Bihar CM announces probe into the boiler blast incident of Muzaffarpur

Patna, Dec 26 : Asserting deep sorrow over the death of workers at a noodles factory in the Muzaffarpur district of Bihar due to a boiler explosion on Sunday, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar directed authorities to investigate the accident.

A team of senior officers is being dispatched from Patna for the purpose of investigating the blast incident, Kumar said here.

Kumar said here that a team of senior officers was being dispatched to the spot from Patna for investigating into the blast incident. According to him, the team has been authorised to determine the cause of the blast and will take stern action against those responsible.

Kumar expressed his deep sorrow over the death of the workers in his condolence message and announced a cash reward of Rs 4 lakh to the families. Additionally, the Chief Minister ordered proper treatment for those injured in the blast.

Six labourers were killed and 12 others injured in the explosion today at a noodles factory in Muzaffarpur district when the boiler exploded.

According to Muzaffarpur Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jayant Kant, the blast occurred in phase two of the Bela industrial area.

The SSP said that the injured were admitted to the hospital.

Identification of the deceased was being ascertained, informed the SSP.
