Hamirpur (HP), Sep 13 : Although the Election Commission of India has postponed the bye-elections for the three assembly seats and one Lok Sabha seat of Mandi in the state, leaders, and workers of two major political parties, the BJP and Congress have intensified their activities to woe the voters in their favor.

The BJP is in power in the state and is trying its best to win all the three Vidhan Sabha seats and the lone Mandi Lok sabha seat to prove that it wields hold in the masses in the state.

Of the three Vidhan Sabha seats that would go for polls, two were in possession of the BJP and one with the Congress party. The Mandi’s seat was with the BJP and that is why the BJP is taking all steps to win all four seats in the state.
The BJP has already started preparations to strengthen its booths and for that worker’s training camps are in progress these days. Senior party leaders were giving training to the cadre to be ready for the elections any time as the booths will be the main things to be watched in the next elections.

The party in charge of the state affairs, Avinash Khanna from Punjab has been camping in the state since his posting and has been visiting all parts of the state along with the local party leaders to have proper interaction with the local workers and the powerful people of the respective areas and the media personals of the concerned areas.

The Jan ashirwad yatra of the BJP led by the Hamirpur MP, Anurag Thakur who is also the Union Information-cum-Broadcasting Minister has also helped the party to come together and this has made the people to understand that the party was preparing its young brigade for the next elections.

Similarly, Prem Kumar Dhumal, the former HP Chief Minister and senior party leaders have been holding rallies and worker sammelan in various parts of the state especially in the Hamirpur Parliamentary constituency to which he had remained MP for three terms. This way, he is not only helping the party but also consolidating the base of his own son, Anurag Thakur.

Another party stalwart, Shanta Kumar, who is also a former Union minister and Former HP Chief Minister, has also been educating the party cadre despite his old age.

On other hand, after the death of six-time Chief Minister, Vir Bhadra Singh due to the COVID, the Congress party campaign in the state has been taken over by its State President, Kuldip Rathore. Rathore who has risen to the heights from the NSUI cadre is state President of the party at present and has been touring all parts of the state and making sharp attacks on the BJP led governments both at the center and in the state of Himachal Pradesh for their alleged failure on all fronts.

After a long time, someone from the Congress party has been able to unite the party and that is why the party cadre is taking an active part in the rallies and making them strong to fight against the BJP.

Though both parties are taking an active part in their campaigns yet they are still not united and for this, their respective high commands are taking every step but so far have failed to keep their flocks together.

Political analysts of the state see that a tough fight is going to take place between both parties in all the coming elections and whoever was able to unite the cadre and to end the dissension therein will be able to carry the day.
