New Delhi, Dec 17 : After Supreme Court’s directions on forming a negotiation committee over the farmers’ movement, Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) has demanded its inclusion in the committee for due representation of traders and on Thursday written to Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar and Piyush Goyal.

In its letter, the CAIT has said that since the traders are an important link in the food supply chain system, therefore, their representation in the committee was needed.

CAIT General Secretary Praveen Khandelwal has welcomed the apex court’s direction for the formation of the committee.

He also said that the farmers’ movement is affecting the supply chain system and traders across the nation are affected due to the same and therefore the inclusion of federation in the committee will be appropriate for keeping the traders view point.

A large number of traders across the country are involved in agriculture related or linked commercial activities that support the agri sector and are based on the same.
