Chandigarh/New Delhi, Sep 28 : Former Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh is visiting Delhi on Tuesday, amid speculations of him meeting top BJP leaders in the national capital, even as his media advisor said it was a ‘personal visit’.

Singh, who quit from the post of Punjab chief minister on September 18 and said he felt “humiliated”, has been vocal in expressing his displeasure with the decision taken by the party.

Soon after his resignation, BJP leaders including Haryana Home Minister Anil Vij and party national general secretary Tarun Chugh invited Captain to join hands with BJP.

Singh’s media advisor Raveen Thukral however said it was a personal visit and warned against ‘unnecessary speculations’.

“Too much being read into Captain Amarinder Singh’s visit to Delhi. He’s on a personal visit, during which he’ll meet some friends and also vacate Kapurthala house for the new CM,” Thukral said. “No need for any unnecessary speculation,” he added.

Singh has been miffed with the Punjab Congress chief Navjot Singh Sindhu, and had called him a ‘friend of Pakistan’ warning the party against making him Punjab chief minister. He had said Sidhu being in command of a border state could be dangerous for national security.

He has been supported by many BJP leaders, who have joined him in raising questions over Sidhu.
