CBI arrests Patwari in bribery case

New Delhi, Jan 17 : The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Monday arrested a Patwari in Jammu district (J&K) for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 35 thousand from a complainant.

The accused has been identified as patwar Halqa Jassore. The CBI received a complaint against him. The complainant stated that he was allegedly demanding a bribe of Rs 50 thousand from the complainant for issuing fard in respect of land owned by his father.

A case was registered on the basis of the complaint against the patwari. CBI laid a trap and caught the accused when he was allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 35 thousand from the complainant.

Searches were conducted the premises of the accused. The accused was produced before the Court in Jammu.
