CBI arrests seven more accused at Bogtui massacre in Bengal

Kolkata, Aug 23 : The CBI has arrested seven more accused persons for their alleged involvement in the March 22 Bogtui massacre in which 10 people were killed in West

Bengal’s Birbhum district, official sources said on Tuesday.

The Central Bureau of Investigation, which is probing the carnage, said it has arrested seven

more accused persons, who had been evading arrest after the horrendous killing.

The arrested accused have been identified as Bikir Ali, Noor Ali, Sher Ali alias Kalo, Sk Asif,

Joshif Hossain, SK Jamirul alias Ujir and Sk.Khairul.

They were picked up from different hideouts in Birbhum district on Monday night.

Many of the arrested have been named in the FIR filed by the CBI.

Official sources said the accused persons were being produced before a judicial court of law at

Rampurhat on Tuesday.

On March 22 eight people, seven women and a minor, were charred to death after the miscreants locked them in a room from outside and set them on fire.

The killings happened immediately after Trinamool Congress deputy head Badhu Sheikh was

gunned down by some motorcycle-borne miscreants at Bogtui village.

Two other women succumbed to their burn wounds in Rampurhat hospital later.

The CBI is probing the massacre following a Calcutta High Court directive.
