Centre directs to states to impose restriction if raise COVID cases

Aurangabad, Dec 12 : On the backdrop of Covid-19 update virus Omicron, the central government has instructed all the state governments to impose night curfew and other restrictions in the district concerned if the rate of covid-19 infection increases to more than 10 per cent.

In this regard Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan, in his letter to the all chief secretaries of all the states, directed them to keep an eye on Covid’s condition and said that if new Covid patients were to be found at the district level, alternatives like demarcation of restricted areas should be considered.

The letter further said that if an infection rate rises in a district, it should be closely monitored and prepared for segregation at the local level.

The letter also instructed to limit the number of weddings and funerals in areas where the infection rate is high.

Meanwhile ,so far 17 omicron cases were spotted in the state including in Pune and Mumbai.

The state government has taken numbers of preventive measures in this regard .
