Pune, Oct 9 : Maharashtra chief minister Uddhav Thackeray on Saturday inaugurated Chipi Airport
in Sindhudurg district in Konkan region in Maharashtra.
Uddhav Thackeray and Narayan Rane who are the full of ranchers for each other were seen together today.
Addressing a gathering, Thackeray said the original development of Kokan has started from today and extended special thanks to union Aviation Minister Joytiraditya Scindia for taking efforts to clear the process.
The Chief minister said now areas of Konkan will definitely attract both Indian and foreign tourists since Sindhudurg got a new Airport today.
Our government is committed to bring overall development in Maharashtra, specially the Konkan region, the CM said.
Mr Thackeray further said Shiv Sena has very long association with environmental activities and is familiar with this green environment areas and assured people that his government will provide all help for the development of the areas irrespective of political motives.
He said people go for picnic to Goa, ” I am not against it, but this region is far more better than Goa now for tourists” said Thackeray.
I never compromise with anyone or any political party where developmental work is required. Our government has single opinion for developmental work in Maharashtra, the chief minister added.
Mr Thackeray said he would meet with Union minister Nitin Gadkari on Monday to discuss proper road connectivity in the state.
Taking an indirect dig on Narayan Rane, Thackeray said the work of this airport started 20 years ago, but got delayed because few politicians said they would made Chipi airport like California’s , but they did nothing.
Deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar, Revenue minister Balasaheb Thorat, Environment minister Aditya Thackeray were also present on the occasion.
