Kolkata, Sep 14 : West Bengal Law minister Moloy Ghatak, who was summoned by the Enforcement Directorate to appear at its New Delhi office on September 14 in relation to an ongoing coal scam case in the state, skipped the appearance on Tuesday citing difficulty in short time notice to travel to the national capital with documents.

He sought more time with the probe agency, sources added.

However, the minister’s advocate Dibakar Kundu has reached Delhi. sources added.

Mr Ghatak has informed the probe agency to either arrange a video conferencing or call him to its Kolkata office for interrogation.

TMC leader Moloy Ghatak reportedly informed the ED that he got the summon notice on September 10 and the following two days were holidays.
September 13, he was in the cabinet meeting and therefore he could not arrange the documents and travel to Delhi in time.

The minister sought more time from the probe agency.
