Aurangabad, Jan 4 : A delegation comprising leaders of Aurangabad City District Congress Committee and Rural District Congress Committee met the Guardian Minister of Aurangabad, Mr Subhash Desai and discussed with him various issues of the city and district, it was reported on Tuesday.
The delegation led by city district Congress committee President Mohammad Hisham Osmani along with other senior party leaders met Mr Desai last evening and discussed various issues, Mr Osmani told UNI on Tuesday.
The delegation discussed about providing water supply to citizens in Aurangabad every alternate day instead of every 8 days and how to achieve it. Like Mumbai Municipal Corporation, Aurangabad Municipal Corporation provides tax relief for small house owners, construction and repair of city roads, extension of payment period under Gunthewari scheme for 6 months, reduction of Gunthewari scheme rates, inclusion of new premises in Gunthewari scheme and immediate repair of Mehmood Darwaza (watermill gate).
They also discussed about completing the work of the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj at Kranti Chowk at the earliest.
Government funds should be allocated as per the formula decided by the Mahavikas Aghadi government.
The state government should appoint its officers in important positions in the Aurangabad Municipal Corporation and should not give any extension to the retired officers, which is currently in practice in the Aurangabad Municipal Corporation.
They also demanded 20 percent share should be given to city district Congress and 30 percent share should be given to rural district Congress committee in government committees and also as chairman, said Mr Osmani.
