Puducherry, Sep 23 : The fresh Coronavirus cases has reduced in the Union Territory during the last 24 hours, ending at 10 AM on Thursday, as compared to 117 cases reported on Wednesday with 91 Covid-19 cases recorded, taking the infection tally to 1,25,826 and death toll remained at 1,834.
No deaths were reported during the period.
According to the Covid-19 status released by the health department here, the new 91 cases have been registered after 5,883 swab sample tests had conducted.
As many as 66 new cases were reported in Puducherry region,19 in Karaikal region,and six in Mahe region.
About 67 persons were discharged in the last 24 hours and 44 of them were from Puducherry region, 12 from Karaikal region and 11 from Mahe region.
Presently, 94 patients were being treated at hospitals in Puducherry region, 21 in Karaikal region, five in Yanam region and 12 in Mahe region.
Another, 837 persons, tested positive for COVID-19, were undergoing treatment under home isolation in all the four regions of the Union Territory.
So far, 1,25,826 persons are infected by Coronavirus and of which 1,23,023 patients were treated and discharged, 1,834 people died and presently there are 969 active cases.
The test positivity rate in the UT is 1.55 per cent, case fatality rate is 1.46 per cent and the recovery rate is 97.77 per cent.
As many as 9,42,187 doses of Covid Vaccine has been administered to healthcare workers, frontline workers and general public in the UT so far.
