Lucknow, Mar 1 : The third phase of the COVID vaccination began in Uttar Pradesh on Monday. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inspected the third phase vaccination at the Dr Syama Prasad Mukherjee Civil Hospital in the state capital.
On Monday, people above 60 years of age started getting vaccinated at the Civil Hospital. Vaccines are also being given to people above the age of 45 in the hospital who are seriously ill and are at risk of contracting the coronavirus.
State Immunization Officer Ajay Ghai said that the preparation of vaccination by the government is complete. A campaign to vaccinate the elderly and people above 45 years has started today for protection against the novel coronavirus. On the first day, 100 people are being vaccinated at three vaccination centres each in all 75 districts. In this way, 22,500 people will be vaccinated on the first day at 225 centres.
Those who have completed 60 years of age in the year 2021 are also being provided with the facility to get vaccinated.
