Mangaluru, May 3 : Deputy Commissioner Dr K V Rajendra said that retail sale and purchase of fish by the public at the fisheries port has been banned.

Presiding over a meeting held on Monday evening to discuss the issues relating to adherence of Covid guidelines he said retail sale and purchase of fish has been banned in order to ensure adherence to Covid protocol. The measure has been taken to avoid crowds that may lead to a surge in Covid cases. Stern action would be taken against those who fail to adhere to the rules, he added.

Members of the general public who are seen unnecessarily loitering in the port area will also face action, he warned.
