Cruise Drugs Case: Mumbai Police begins probe into bribery charges against Wankhede

Mumbai, Oct 28 : Mumbai Police on Thursday initiated preliminary inquiry against NCB Officer Sameer Wankhede accused of seeking bribe in lieu of releasing Aryan Khan in cruise drugs case.

The action comes after Prabhakar Sail, an independent witness in the high-profile case, recorded his statement before the police, in regard to the multi-crore bribery charge levelled by him.

Based on the allegations, the state government has appointed a four-member investigation team to look into the matter.

The probe team, comprising of Milind Khatale (ACP), Ajay Sawant (PI), Shreekant Parkar (API) and Prakash gawali (PSI), will first investigate electronic evidence provided by Mr Sail.

The police will scan the relevant CCTV footage as Mr Sail deposed that those involved in bribery exchanged money through bags.
While, his phone is also being tracked for the location to corroborate facts.
