Declare wet drought, compensate farmers: AAP to CM Uddhav

Aurangabad (Maharashtra), Oct 19 : Aam Aadmi Party activists here on Monday staged demonstration, seeking declaration of wet drought in the state as well as Rs 50,000 per hectare compensation to the affected farmers.

Led by the Marathwada Division party members Sadashiv Patil and Ajabrao Mankar, they gathered in front of the District Collectorate and raised slogans in favour of the farmers.

They told that the unexpected wet weather has not only damaged the standing crops but also impacted the quality of lands as the soil got carried away in the waters.

The regions of Vidarbha, Marathwada and western Maharashtra have been the most hard-hit places, they added. Later, they submitted a memorandum addressed to CM Uddhav Thackeray through the Collector.
