Washington, Sep 20 : Delta Air Lines said in a press release that it is extending its pause on flights between New York and Tel Aviv due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East and heightened tensions on the Israeli-Lebanese border.

“Delta flights between New York-JFK and Tel Aviv will be paused through Dec. 31, due to ongoing conflict in the region,” the release said on Thursday.

The airline added that it has already issued travel waivers to all customers who booked travel to/from Tel Aviv before December 31.

Earlier on Thursday, Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah said that Israel had crossed all red lines, endangering the lives of multiple Lebanese civilians and that the communication device blasts were a terrorist attack potentially triggering a declaration of war.

On Tuesday, pager detonations took place across Lebanon, killing 12 people and injuring over 2,800 others, the Lebanese Health Ministry said. A second wave of mass explosions of communication devices belonging to Hezbollah members on Wednesday killed at least 25 people and wounded more than 600, according to the ministry. Lebanon believes that Israeli intelligence services are behind the detonations.
