Nashik, Dec : Renowned mathematician and former teacher Dilip Krishnaji Gotkhindikar passed away here on Tuesday due to a brief illness.
He was 68.
The demise of Gotkhindikar, who taught subjects like mathematics in a simple manner and was associated with many educational institutions, has left a void in the education sector.
While teaching at the Pethe High School of Nashik Education Society, he was very popular among the students due to his skill in teaching mathematics.
He worked with great mathematician (late) Dattatreya Ramchandra Kaprekar for nine years. He was a member of the Indian Mathematical Society from 1984.
He was also associated with many institutions such as the State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, Maharashtra Mathematical Teachers’ Federation and Marathi Vigyan Parishad among others.
He had written total 70 books.
