Drizzle in Delhi dips mercury a few notches

New Delhi, Dec 2 : Various parts of the national capital on Thursday witnessed light rainfall, dipping down the mercury by a few notches.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), very light to light rain would occur over adjoining areas of isolated places of the national capital by evening.

The weather department said the maximum temperature will plummet by two notches and settle at 21 degrees Celsius, following light rain. On Wednesday, the maximum temperature was recorded at 23 degrees.

On Thursday, the minimum temperature was recorded at 13.4 degrees, four notches above normal, while the air quality in the national capital plunged to ‘severe’ category from ‘very poor’, the IMD data showed.

According to the weather department, the overall air quality index (AQI) was recorded at 411.

The IMD, however, has forecast that air quality is likely to improve in the next two days.
