Chandigarh, Jan 19 : Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala said the ‘Padma’ scheme will prove to be a landmark for the rural sector, as it will create new employment opportunities for lakhs of youth and also increase the income of panchayats.
Giving this information after presiding over a meeting of officers regarding ‘Padma’ scheme, Chautala said the state government is working on the Padma scheme expeditiously. He said to promote MSMEs in the state, a ‘Land-Pool Policy’ is being formulated, its draft has been prepared and soon it will be finalised.
He said under land pooling, about fifty acres of land would be raised in each block. Some products have been fixed block-wise by the state government, which will also help in getting the export done.
Mr Chautala said such quality products are prepared by skilled people in many villages of the state, which can get good price at national and international level, but due to lack of knowledge, they are forced to sell at local level at low prices.
According to the Deputy Chief Minister, the intention of the state government is to form a cluster in each block for the best products produced by the people of that block, where plots can be provided to the people for setting up industries like MSMEs. Facilities including electricity, water, roads, banks, common service centre will be provided in this cluster.
