DVAC raids at premises of TNSC bank chairman

Chennai, Oct 22 : Officials of the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) today conducted raids at the premises of Tamil Nadu State Apex Cooperative (TNSC) bank chairman across the State.

The raids, which began at the residence of bank chairman R.Elangovan in Salem district, has been going on in more than 20 places following complaints of amassment of wealth disproportionate to his known sources of income.

He has been holding the post for a long time and Elangovan. He was said to be a close associate of opposition AIADMK co-coordinator and former Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami.

DVAC sources said the raids were being held in 12 places in Salem district at the residential and and business premises of Elangovan and in other parts of the state, including Chennai, Karur and Namakkal districts.
