Chennai, Mar 5 : The Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) today released is manifesto for the April six Assembly elections, promising waiver of higher education loans availed in the public sector banks.
The manifesto, released by PMK founder S Ramadoss in the presence of party president G K Mani and youth wing leader Anbumani Ramadoss, also promised 10.5 per cent quota for government school students in Anna University and government engineering colleges.
It promised government jobs for Tamils only and also to make it mandatory to provide 85 per cent jobs in private institutions only for Tamils. Stating that Madurai and Trichy will be made as the second and third capitals of Tamil Nadu, the manifesto also promised one-year maternity leave for women in public and private institutions, exclusive budget for agriculture and appointment of four Ministers for agriculture.
While retierating its commitment to introduce total prohibition in the state, the PMK said it would continue to strive for the release of seven life convicts in the former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi assassination case.
The PMK also said it would take up the Cauvery-Godavari river linking project will within a year and said a special scheme will be evolved to provide one crore jobs in the next five years.
