Election Commission team on 3-day visit to Goa

Panaji, Dec 20 : A three-member team of the Election Commission led by Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sushil Chandra is visiting Goa starting Monday.

The team comprises Election Commissioners Rajiv Kumar and Anup Chandra Pandey. They will take stock of the preparedness ahead of the assembly elections scheduled next year.

Three Deputy Election Commissioners, Chandra Bhushan Kumar, Nitesh Vyas and T Sreekanth, besides Director General Sheyphali B Sharan and other Secretary-level members are part of the team.

The team will meet Chief Election Officer (CEO) Kunal Singh and police officials besides the Enforcement Department and political party representatives on Tuesday. They will also interact with district election officers and Superintendents of Police.

The team will meet state government representatives including the Chief Secretary, the Home Secretary and the Director General of Police.
Goa will go to the polls early next year. The term of the existing state House will end on March 15, 2022.
