Flood water discharged from Jayakwadi dam

Aurangabad (Maharashtra), Aug 10 : Discharging excess flood water from the one of the biggest dams, Jayakwadi, continued on Wednesday in view of continuous inflow from upstream dams of Nashik and Ahmednagar districts.

The Water Resources Department said that the dam was holding 2,058.688 million cubic meter (MCM), which is 95 per cent of its total capacity.

Jayakwadi is the lifeline of Marathwada as it is crucial in sustaining the region’s water needs.
