Goa: BJP delegation, demands dismissal Punjab govt

Panaji, Jan 7 : A Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) delegation led by Chief minister Pramod Sawant on Thursday evening called on Governor P S Sreedharan Pillai on the issue of security breach during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Punjab and demanded dismissal of Congress government, officials informed on Friday.

Speaking to reporters, Dr Sawant said, “The incident has occurred for the first time in the history of the country. When a government which can not provide security to the Prime Minister, we can’t think of condition of the general people.”

“We urged the Governor to seek intervention of the President and the Congress government in Punjab be dismissed,” he said.

BJP Goa unit President Sadanand Shet Tanavade, state Revenue Minister Jennifer Monserrate, NRI Commissioner Narendra Sawaikar, MLA Tony Fernandez, among others, were part of the delegation.
