Ahmedabad, Sep 11 : In a major development, Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani resigned on Saturday.
After submitting his resignation to the Governor at the Raj Bhavan here, Rupani told reporters that he had voluntarily resigned.
Rupani also expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for leading the state as Chief Minister.
He said he would fulfill whatever responsibility he is entrusted by the party.
Assembly election in Gujarat is scheduled next year and it is being seen as the party’s electoral strategy.
Meanwhile, Rupani’s successor has not been announced yet.
