Panaji, May 11 : The Bombay Hight Court at Goa on Tuesday slammed the state administration for not implementing its earlier interim order and ordered that no one would be allowed to enter the state without having a negative Covid 19 report, except in medical emergency.

A bench of Justices Nitin Sambre and Mahesh Sonak passed the order while hearing a PIL on coronavirus situation in the state. The bench said the order applied to all persons arriving in Goa, be a visitor or local resident.

Following the court’s May 6, 2021, directive, North Goa and South Goa District administrations had issued orders making it mandatory for visitors to carry negative COVID-19 test reports while arriving.

The judges said in spite of the clear order, the two District Magistrates made exceptions in favor of local residents.

Advocate General Devidas Pangam assured the court that the orders would be modified.
