Chennai, Mar 26 : BJP National President J P Nadda on Friday urged the people of Tamil Nadu to reject the dynastic politics of DMK and its ally, the Congress.

Addrdessing an election meeting at Thittakudi in Thanjavur district to canvass votes for the BJP, which is facing the April six Assembly elections as part of the ruling AIADMK-led Front, Mr slammed the DMK and the Congress and said the DMK was a mere spectator when Congress-led UPA banned the traditional rural sport of Jallikattu, being held as part of the pongal festivities in the State.

”Congress has always ignored local issues and local sentiments. It was the UPA government when notification was issued against Jallikattu. It was Jairam Ramesh who led it and DMK were mere spectators”, he said.

Observing that DMK stands for Dynasty, Money, Katta Panchayat, Mr Nadda said ”We also need to remember DMK-Congress corruption and days of policy paralysis. That’s why I say their alliance is 2G, 3G and 4G!” “We’ve to reject the DMK and Congress’ dynastic politics.

From J and K to Kerala and from Gujarat to the Northeast, all parties have become dynastic parties and only the BJP is an exception”, he said.

”Today, they are asking for votes. Prime Minister Narendra Modi took a stand, came out with an ordnance and the local aspiration of Jallikattu was taken care and it was allowed”, Mr Nadda said.

”From restoring Jallikattu to saving Tamil fishermen, it is Mr Narendramodi ji who protected Tamil rights and respected local aspirations”, he said, adding, since Mr Modi came to power incidents of shooting on Tamil fishermen have stopped.

”We’ve also started the Blue Revolution to give fishermen the best possible facilities for fishing and their livelihood”, he said, adding Mr Modi was the first Indian PM to have visited Jaffna and got the houses reconstructed.

He said Tamil Nadu is the home of 48,000 temples and a separate board will be formed to administer the hindu temples. ”We will form a separate board for administration of Hindu temples that will be represented by scholars and saints”,
he said.

He said devotion towards spiritualism of the people of Tamil Nadu is immense and BJP believes in the traditional culture and respects it, and works to protect such culture.

Assuring that education was taken care of and further improve the health facilities, Mr Nadda said ”For BPL children, we will provide financial support. Infrastructure in education and healthcare will be taken care of.”

He also said free tablets will be distributed to students of Class VIII and IX to grow into a digital era. He also said the BJP will ensure that the medium of instruction in school will be done in local languages. ”We will ensure Tamil Nadu takes a big leap in the field of infrastructure under the leadership of AIADMK-BJP.” Pointing out that in the 13th Finance Commission, Tamil Nadu was given only Rs 90,000 crore, Mr Nadda said When Mr Modi came to power in 2014, Tamil Nadu got Rs 19.5 lakh crore, nearly 500 times more for development.
