Kejriwal : “Deshbhakti” curriculum” in Delhi govt schools from Sep 27

New Delhi, Aug 15 : Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday announced that the ‘Deshbhakti’ curriculum will be rolled out in Delhi’s government schools from September 27 as a tribute to freedom fighter Bhagat Singh.

Hoisting the national flag at Delhi Secretariat to mark 75th Independence Day, Mr Kejriwal said, “The aim is to instill a feeling of pride in every child and also to prepare them to give their everything for the nation”.

Talking about the contribution of youth in the Indian Army, the Chief Minister said, ”Delhi will have Sainik School and preparations are on for Delhi Armed Forces Training Academy to prepare students for armed forces”.

Expressing his gratitude towards the frontline workers who helped in the contribution to Covid-19 fight, the Mr Kejriwal said, ” Doctors and paramedical staff who laid down their lives during Covid pandemic; immensely thankful to them”.

The Delhi government also announced Rs 1 crore to families of frontline workers who lost their lives during the pandemic.

To make yoga a “jan andolan” Mr Kejriwal said the Delhi government will be starting yoga classes in parks and colonies from October 2.
