Kharge, Rahul pay homage to Jawaharlal Nehru on his death anniv

New Delhi, May 27 : Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and former party chief Rahul Gandhi paid rich tributes to former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru on his 59th death anniversary at Shanti Vana here on Saturday.
Among the senior leaders, KC Venugopal and Pawan Kumar Bansal were also present, and paid floral tributes to the former PM.
Earlier, Kharge while recalling the contribution of the former PM in a tweet wrote, “The 21st century cannot be imagined without the contribution of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru.”
“A fearless watchdog of democracy, his progressive ideas strongly propelled country’s social, political and economic development despite challenges,” the Congress chief said.
Venugopal in a tweet wrote, “Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru set an example for all his successors to follow. Remembering Pandit ji on his death anniversary.”
The Delhi unit of the Congress also paid homage to the former PM at its party office here.
