New Delhi, Mar 25 : Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla has said that several important bills were passed during the Budget Session which concluded on Thursday.
In a tweet in Hindi, Mr Birla said, ‘Productivity stood at 114 per cent during the session. It also witnessed active support from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the other members of all the parties. The members further strengthened the tradition of meaningful dialogue by ensuring late night participation.’
In another tweet, the Lok Sabha Speaker said, ‘Several important bills were also passed during the session.
I could not be present in the House during the last days of the session due to health reasons. During that time, the Panel of Chairpersons conducted the proceedings smoothly.’
Mr Birla thanked Members for their contribution in the smooth conduct of the proceedings in the House.
The Lok Sabha was adjourned sine die on Thursday drawing to a close the almost two-month long Budget session.
As per the schedule, the session which had commenced on January 29, was to end on April 8 but concluded before time in view of the Assembly elections.
