Lucknow , Nov 20 : Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati said the government should not adopt dictatorial attitude like once late PM Indira Gandhi had done and it would be better to consider all the demands of the farmers.

In a series of tweets on Saturday, Ms Mayawati while welcoming the decision of the Centre to withdraw the three farm laws, said the intention of the BJP government is being doubted as the decision was taken due to the coming elections and it showed a compulsion of the government .

” Therefore, some more concrete decisions for the farmers are necessary in this regard,” she said .

Ms Mayawati further said a new law to ensure the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for the produce of the farmers and withdrawing all the other cases filed against the agitating farmers, except in the most serious cases related to the pride and honour of the country, would be appropriate.

She further said although the country had suffered a lot in the past, especially due to the arrogance and dictatorial attitude of the government led by Indira Gandhi of the Congress Party, but now, the present government should ensure that a similar situation as before should not arise again in the country.
