Mehbooba greets people on Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (SAW)

Srinagar, Oct 18 : Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister and President Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Mehbooba Mufti on Monday greeted the people on the eve of Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (SAW).

In her message on the occasion, the PDP President said the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) taught lessons of compassion, mercy, tolerance and brotherhood to humanity-all of which need to be vigorously inculcated in today’s strife infested world.

On the occasion, Mehbooba asked people to join her in prayers to end bloodshed and return of peace with honor and dignity in Jammu and Kashmir.

The Eid-e-Milad-un Nabi birthday of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) is being celebrated on Tuesday in the Kashmir valley and congregational prayers would be held at Hazratbal Shrine in Srinagar housing the holy relic of the Prophet, would be displayed after every prayers during the day.

She said that amongst all the great gifts bestowed upon mankind by Allah, the birth of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) was the greatest and the kindest one. “Almighty Allah sent the Prophet (SAW) as Rehmatan-lil-Aalmeen (mercy to mankind).

People irrespective of caste colour and religion can seek guidance from the holy Prophet’s (SAW) teachings as he had tremendous love for humanity in general and compassion for the poor and needy in particular, Mehbooba said.

She prayed to Almighty Allah to reignite peoples’ hearts and souls with the love of the Prophet (SAW) of Islam.
