Min Samant backs Raut in defamatory remark case

Pune, Dec 13 : Maharashtra Higher and Technical Education Minister Uday Samant on Monday extended support to Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut after an FIR was registered against the latter.

Based on a complaint filed by the BJP Women Wing, the Delhi Police have registered an FIR against Mr Raut for allegedly using lewd words against the women activists of the saffron party.

In the same regard, Mr Samant expressed solidarity with the parliamentarian while talking to mediapersons after attending the 119th convocation ceremony of Pune University.

Speaking on hybrid education model, the minister stated that the students can give exams via online as well as offline mode albeit with certain conditions.

The fully-vaccinated students can appear for offline exams while online option has been kept open for others, he asserted.

He told that many rumours are spreading on social media about the UGC program. The pupils can directly approach the university to get detailed information related to their exams, he added.
