Thiruvananthapuram, Dec 25 : State Industries Minister P Rajeev expressed hope that Kerala Paper Products Limited (KPPL) is expected to start operations in January next year and it will achieve full-scale operation over a period of 46 months.
KPPL will become a leading company with a turnover of Rs 3,000 crore, Mr Rajeev said while reviewing the present and the future action plans of the factory.
The Minister tweeted “Visited Kerala Paper Products Ltd and reviewed present and future action plans of the factory. Hopefully, the company will start operations in January and will achieve full-scale operation over a period of 46 months.KPPL will become a leading company with a turnover of ₹3000 cr.”
The disfunct Hindustan Newsprint Limited will resume operations as the Kerala Paper Products Limited (KPPL) on January 1, sources said on Saturday.
Earlier, the Central PSU Hindustan Newsprint Limited had shutdown its production plant due to financial crisis.
Later, the state government took over the company when the Centre had planned to privatise it.
