Mismanagement spreading in field of education due to BJP’s wrong policies: Akhilesh
Lucknow, Jul 11 : Thanks to wrong policies of the BJP government in Uttar Pradesh, mismanagement is spreading in the education field, Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav said here on Saturday.
In a statement issued here, Mr Yadav said that schools and colleges are closed due to the novel coronavirus crisis. Online studies are not coming on track. The children belonging to poor families do not have smartphones and various places, especially rural areas, have network issues.
He said that online education is only happening for people belonging to prosperous families. The government is behaving insensitively with Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe students. The government closed schools and colleges but did not pay heed to how the lives of teachers and other employees working there will be affected.
The school management was forced to not charge the fees of the period when the schools were closed. In such a situation, the parents who are capable of paying the fee, are also not paying the same. As a result, over 10 lakh teachers of private colleges have reached the brink of starvation due to the lack of salaries, he averred.
Mr Yadav said today the situation is such that some private schools gave the salaries of March-April, but did not provide further salaries, while teachers of some other schools haven’t even received the salaries for the month of March. A serious danger has arisen in front of those whose only means of livelihood was educational work.
He said that had there been even a little respect towards education in the BJP government, it would have provided the support of minimum salary according to the teacher approval of private recognized schools. This would have enabled the teachers to take online classes as per convenience while the burden of fee on the parents would also have lessened. This would have met the interests of teachers, parents and school management.
The SP president claimed that the students belonging to Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes were also becoming victims of the BJP government’s discriminatory and anti-Dalit policies. The fee reimbursement of the students belonging to the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes is sent as a scholarship by the UP government every year which facilitates their studies.
But now under a conspiracy, the BJP government is not sending the fee reimbursement due to which such students will now be deprived of giving examinations, he alleged.
