Nadda hails Centre’s decision to reopen Kartarpur Corridor

New Delhi, Nov 16 : BJP national president Jagat Prakash Nadda on Tuesday welcomed the Centre’s decision to reopen the Kartarpur Sahib Corridor and said Sikh living all over the world will be able to celebrate Prakash Parv, also known as Gurpurab with full devotion and enthusiasm.

Expressing his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Nadda in a tweet in Hindi wrote, “With this decision, Sikh and Nanak Naam Leva Sangat living all over the world will be able to celebrate Prakash Parv with full devotion and enthusiasm.”

“The Government of India under leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has decided to resume operations of the Shri Kartarpur Sahib Corridor from November 17, keeping in view the improved Covid-19 situation. The operations at the Corridor had been suspended since March 16, 2020 due to Covid-19 pandemic,” the Union Home Ministry said in a statement on Tuesday.

The decision of the Centre comes a day after a BJP delegation called on Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday, and PM a day before, urging them to reopen the Corridor in view of the Gurpurab on November 19.
