Nagaland ex-Minister T. Kikon passes away

Kohima Jul 26 : Former Nagaland Interim Body Member and former Minister Tsenlamo Kikon passed away yesterday in Wokha after a brief illness. He was 88 and survived by his wife, two sons and five daughters.

According to family sources late Tsenlamo, son of late Assemo Kikon and late Yimono of Yimpang village, was born in 1933. Starting his education in Wokha town, he was graduated from St. Anthony’s College in Shillong in 1960. After completing his education, Tsenlamo Kikon was selected as one of the members to represent the Lotha tribe to the Nagaland Interim Body.

Starting his political career as a representative from Bhandari Assembly Constituency in 1964, he was elected five times to the Nagaland Legislative Assembly till 1998. During the period, he had held various portfolios in the Nagaland State Government. Tsenlamo retired from active politics in 2008.

In their condolence messages to Ms Athelo Kikon, Nagaland Governor R N Ravi, Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, Deputy Chief Minister Y. Kikon and several others condoled the demise of former Minister and Interim Body Member (IBM), Tsenlamo Kikon. He was laid to rest in Wokha town yesterday (Sunday) afternoon.
