Navratra Update : Modi to unveil 10 Durga Pujas in Bengal

New Delhi, Oct 18 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate at least 10 Durga Pujas in Bengal on October 22 (Mahashasthi), online.

According to BJP sources on Sunday, among the ten Pujas, five are in and around Kolkata, one in Midnapore district and the rest in North Bengal.

Informatively, the Prime Minister will also address the Puja revellers virtually in select Pandals spread across Bengal on Thursday.

“This was the first time a PM had taken time out of his busy schedule to bond with Bengalis over Durga Puja,” the sources informed.

Mr Modi will also virtually participate in the Puja being organised by the BJP Mohila Morcha and its cultural wing at Eastern Zonal Cultural Centre (EZCC).

“We have been given the responsibility to host Durga Puja at EZCC this year. This is the first time we will be organising a Puja,” said BJP Mahila Morcha’s Bengal unit president Agnimitra Paul.

Mr Modi, however, does not have the ‘first mover’ advantage in Bengal, as Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee already inaugurated 69 Pujas across 10 districts on October 14.
