Insight Online News

Srinagar, Aug 27 : Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said on Tuesday that the National Conference-Congress alliance aims to present a united front in the upcoming Assembly elections to defeat the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

The National Conference Vice President made these remarks while accompanying his party candidate, Bashir Ahmad Veeri, as he filed his nomination papers for the Bijbehara Constituency in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.

Omar emphasized that the NC-Congress alliance has agreed on seat-sharing to prevent the BJP and its allies from winning.

He expressed confidence that by fighting the elections together, their chances of victory would increase.

He also said that all NC candidates for the first phase would file their nomination papers on the same day.

The National Conference Vice President highlighted that the party has presented its manifesto and roadmap to the people of Jammu and Kashmir, leaving the decision to them.

He acknowledged that some dedicated party workers who did not receive tickets due to seat sharing with Congress would be adjusted within the party cadre.
