New York Rep. Guv candidate Zeldin attacked with knife

Washington July 22 : An unidentified man has attacked with a knife New York Republican governor candidate Lee Zeldin, who is also a friend of the family of former President Donald Trump, media reported.

According to the WIVB broadcaster, the incident took place during his campaign event in the town of Perinton.

The attacker came to Zeldin and took a knife after a short quarrel with the politician. The assailant was disarmed by Executive Director of American Veterans (AMVETS) Joseph Chenelly and later detained.

The politician was not injured in the incident.
