Nitish : No night curfew in Bihar

Patna, Dec 25 : Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Saturday said that night curfew would not be imposed as Corona positive cases were well under control and there was no need for such restrictions in Bihar.

Kumar told media persons here that prevailing scenario of Corona pandemic was far better than other states in the country. Not a single case of Corona pandemic had been reported from any part of Bihar, he pointed out.

” For how long Corona pandemic would continue and with which it would cause havoc, is still unknown”, Chief Minister said adding that state government was keeping strict vigil on the situation.

Officials concerned and doctors had been directed to remain on alert to face any challenge, he added. Kumar said there was no alternative to strict adherence to Corona guidelines to avoid spread of infections.

People were being made aware on measures required to be taken to avoid getting infected with Corona virus infections, he added. As it is, number of Corona positive cases has increased in recent past but no case of Omicron variant has been detected so far. Centre has issued instructions to all states to take all precautionary measures required to check spread of Corona virus infections particularly Omicron variant.

Night curfew has been imposed in several states including Maharastra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Haryana. A central team is scheduled to arrive in Bihar to assess preparedness to meet the challenge of any possibility of rise in Corona cases and Omicron variant.
