No alliance with SAD for LS polls : BJP

Chandigarh, Apr 25 : BJP national spokesman RP Singh on Tuesday clarified that there will be no alliance with SAD for 2024 LS polls.

Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) spokesman was here in connection with the Jalandhar LS by-election scheduled for May 10.
He said that during interaction with villagers he heard that BJP would fight 2024 LS polls in alliance with Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) but that was not true.

Singh said he would like to clarify that BJP will be contesting 2024 LS election as well as 2027 Punjab assembly polls on its own under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Notably, BJP and SAD were alliance partners since almost the last two decades However, SAD came out of alliance in support of farmers agitation over controversial farm bills.
